My name is Laura van Dijk and I am one of the consultants of the Erasmus Consultancy Project 2018.
I obtained my bachelor’s degree in International Business at the University of Groningen. As part of my study, I spent a semester abroad at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. After my graduation, I decided to take a gap year, and did a six-month internship at Henkel. As a marketing intern I was, among other things, responsible for implementing and monitoring product launches, anticipating market developments and the analysis and evaluation for market and financial data. After my internship, I went to Barcelona for three months to study and improve my Spanish.
Recently, I started my master in Strategic Management at the Erasmus University. Besides this, I am also doing the Erasmus Consultancy Project. In my opinion, it is the perfect project to combine my interests in strategy, consultancy and different countries and cultures; and get hands-on experience in these fields.
As a consultant, I am responsible for providing the best possible advice to our clients. In order to be able to do this, doing field research in Indonesia is essential: by visiting companies, the Dutch embassy and other relevant institutions, I’ll be able to gain valuable knowledge of the Indonesian market, which otherwise cannot be obtained through solely doing desk research in The Netherlands.
